A Better Way to Research Historical Hail
Historical Hail Search is now a dedicated research workspace rather than a simple list of dates. Start in Detection Controls by choosing a location, a radius, a minimum hail size, and the period you want to study. You can use the standard time-range controls or specify an exact From and Until date when a particular storm window matters.
Your results are grouped by date, so you can quickly see when qualifying hail was reported and how large the strongest report was. Open any date to see the individual reports underneath it, then use View on Map to load the selected evidence in its proper map context. The result is a cleaner path from a market question—such as “what severe hail happened within 100 miles last year?”—to the exact reports that support the answer.

Put Market Potential Alongside Storm Severity
Storm size is not the only consideration when you are deciding where to send a crew. Market Priority adds an optional population and household lens to the map, allowing you to focus the current storm results on areas with stronger market potential. Instead of adding a permanent, cluttered heat map, the control simply helps narrow visible opportunities using the measure and priority level you select.
Use it when several storm corridors are competing for attention. You can keep the raw storm evidence available, then apply Market Priority to identify the places where storm impact and a larger residential opportunity overlap. It is a practical way to turn a broad post-storm map into a more deliberate deployment conversation.
Replay the Event Before You Roll
Timeline Replay has been refined to feel more like a reliable briefing tool than a loading screen. When you open Timeline, THOR prepares the storm assets in the background: hail swaths first, then radar frames. Playback waits until the required layers are ready, so the replay can start with the evidence in place instead of stuttering through partial downloads.
Once the replay is ready, you can follow a storm through the selected period, zoom into a target market, and use SHOW ALL when you want to compare the cumulative picture. Radar replay and hail swaths work together: radar helps you understand how the cell moved, while swaths help show the damage corridor it left behind.
Make Lead Storm Evidence Easier to Act On
Lead Storm Monitor has also become more useful after the initial alert. The Storm Hits view now supports sorting by event time, distance, lead, address, storm type, and hit count. You can search across lead and storm details, then filter for the leads with the level of repeated impact that deserves priority attention.
More importantly, a recorded hit is no longer a dead end. Open a storm hit from the Lead Monitor or a lead card and THOR can load the relevant historical context, focus the map on the selected event, and open the storm detail. That means your team can move from “this lead has four hits” to the actual dates, evidence, and map location behind those hits.
Designed for the Field, Not Just the Office
These updates are built around real-world decision points. A contractor can research a past storm before entering a market, use replay to understand the route, narrow the opportunity set with Market Priority, and then review the affected leads with verified event context. On mobile, the same workflow stays accessible without asking you to piece together data across separate apps.
